FAQ's

Before you pick up the phone, see if you can find your answer here.

  • What is VoIP?

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is your phone line. Rather than calls going out through copper (like the old days), since the introduction of the National Broadband Network (NBN), calls can now go out over the internet, which is faster and more affordable.

  • Why are my speeds slow?

When dealing with other providers they will say “we’ll put you on NBN”. However, NBN is just the technology, you can still have an NBN that is just as slow as your ADSL2+ was.

  • What is Hosted?

In Telecommunications terms hosting refers to having a phone, mobile softphone or PC softphone running with no on-site system. Rather than registering from a system on-site it registers through the internet.

  • What is the benefit of a Hosted System?

Having no need for a system on-site to run the phones drastically reduces your upfront installation costs. In addition, this allows you more flexibility to work from anywhere using a handset, mobile softphone or PC.

  • What is the benefit of a Traditional System?

Traditional systems are excellent for businesses that need a lot of phones but don’t need to make a lot of calls. Overall, it’s much cheaper for ongoing costs and easy to use.
